Reeling still after the fun we had at the “Here’s Heritage” Vintage Fete last month, we are delighted and honored to have been awarded the Reading Chronicle’s Award for Reading’s Favourite Heritage Event 2012!
For the first time, visitors to the annual 4-day celebration of Reading’s past, were invited to vote for their favourite attraction – and our ‘Here’s Heritage’ Fete grabbed the attention of the voting public from across Reading.
Alexandra Vintage wanted to get involved in Reading’s Heritage Open Days because vintage in its entirety links to our heritage. It was important for the ‘Here’s Heritage’ concept to support local traders by bringing them to an exciting new event in Reading Town Centre and our aim was to put on a display for a younger demographic.
The day was such fun! The Bombshells sang their hearts out and the All Jazzed Up dance team moved and grooved in a lindy hop and jive dancing fashion. We had a lovely team of stallholders offering all sorts, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you to all that took part, who came to visit us on the day and to Reading UK CIC for their continual support – we couldn’t have done it without any of you!
Alexandra Vintage is very proud to have see their first Heritage Open Days event go so well and thoroughly enjoyed meeting visitors and traders alike. There is talk of potentially evolving the ‘Here’s Heritage’ concept for 2013 so watch this space…
